Dual boot Kali and Win8.1 on the same disk, how to properly install GRUB?
Hello, I have an HP laptop with Win8.1 (64bit, UEFI, GPT) installed, I decided to install Kali Linux (64bit) next to it on one hard drive. Through Rufus, I mounted an iso image on a USB flash drive and disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot in Bios. Installation proceeds normally until GRUB is installed. I get an error:
Executing 'grub-install dummy' failed.
This is a fatal error.
I found a solution on the net where you need to run Kali Live USB and enter the code in the terminal:

But an error is displayed:
Installing for x86_64-efi platform.
grub-install: error: cannot open `/boot/efi/EFI/kali/grubx64.efi': Input/output error.

As I understand it, you are trying to install UEFI and not BIOS. Read here
