Downgrade hard drive SATA/150 Seagate 7200.7 (120Gb) to IDE Seagate 7200.7 (32Gb)

Based on the previous question "PCI-SATA controller for the first pentium" and the answers to it in the spirit of the old joke "or meet / or not meet", I decided to continue my experience further. After visiting friends, acquaintances and shops, PCI SATA controllers were not available, I had to purchase an AGEA IDE / SATA converter board (ISSI) adapter , which converts two SATA ports into one PATA 40-pin.
At the first start on the Ali Alladin V motherboard, the disk was not detected in the BIOS, given the version of Award Modular v4.51PG 1984-2000, it remained to be assumed that the BIOS has a limit for disks larger than 32 Gb. The workaround was found to be the simplest one using the Seatools program for DOSthe -Set Capacity to 32GB mode was set - limiting the disk capacity to 32 Gb for working on computers with a Pentium 3 processor and below. A miracle happened and Ali Alladin perfectly recognized the disk in the BIOS.
The first question is how to analyze IDE / SATA performance - for an objective comparison of all the pros and cons of using SATA on old motherboards.
The second question is how to remove the 32Gb limit for disks specifically for Ali Alladin V.

In short, then 1) We put another hard <= 32Gb and it is rubble 2) We put the IDE controller

OS not specified.
But in principle, I have 98 Windows on 486 perfectly saw hard for 40, or something, gigs, despite the fact that it was not defined in BIOS at all. Loading, of course, was carried out from the screw, which was determined by the BIOS.

It is possible to increase the supported volume up to 120GB using BIOS Patcher . I did it a long time ago, it worked, but the screw was at 120. I don’t know what will happen on a larger volume.
