Domain partitioning?

Hello Habrahabr!
A year ago, I registered a domain for a good person and set up a site on it - zeder-unlock
Those who have reg at the leper colony have most likely heard about this person and his story:
leprosorium.ru/comments/673420
leprosorium.ru/comments/ 896160
So, the site lived for itself, exposed a dishonest manufacturer and, at the request of “zeder”, was next to the official site, but tonight the domain suddenly changed its owner. Exactly after a day of delay in payment! Although other domains, which I refused to pay for due to the loss of interest in them, worked for a month or two after the expiration of their payment period.
Of course, I wrote to technical support and am waiting for a response. But the situation does not give me rest.
Can a domain fall off like that because of a daily delay in payment?

look better at the page itself , at the top it says “This domain name has expired. Please log into your control panel to renew it." The domain service time has expired, please go to the control panel to restore the domain.
No one can redeem a domain for at least a month. This time is given to the owner to change his mind.

But this particular registrar exposes linkopomoyka on expired domains. Even for a couple of overdue days, the reputation of a domain can be noticeably spoiled. Reason to think about changing the registry.
