Does YouTube slow you down?

Hello!
Recently, I began to notice how terribly stupid the YouTube video service is. We are talking about the resolution of 720p or 1080p. And such operations as playing a video in full screen will certainly “break” something and further playback is impossible.
My internet is fast, I don't think that's the problem. All players have been updated. And on several computers I noticed this.
Do you have this kind of practice? Thanks for the response.

Perhaps there is not enough memory on the system disk for the cache, or is there an automatic change in quality when entering full screen mode?

I had a similar problem in chrome, solved by disabling extra versions of the flash plugin chrome://plugins

On the contrary, video <720p slows down sometimes. And slows down the download, not playback. As soon as I switch to 720p, it becomes ok. 1080 did not test, the channel width is not enough.

About 2-3 weeks ago there were strange brakes: it reached 10-15 seconds, froze for a second or two and started from the beginning, but already normal. And, all videos. Now everything is fine. And with one plugin, and with two (in Chrome and FF).

For this reason , YouTUBE “slows down” for subscribers of some Internet providers .

Usually I observe under heavy load on the router (torrents / movie playback from nas via dlna).
Try disconnecting all other network devices from the network + turning off everything except the browser.
Maybe there is some loading / virus-ridden piece of iron.

I've been watching freezes in chrome for the last week, I think it's the flash plugin itself.

I tried to do all the activities that you advised, but something did not work. My browser is safari. Of the plugins, only Pocket. Tried turning it off - still the same.
Quite funny, at the time of writing this comment, everything has recovered. I have no idea what happened. Didn't change/turn off anything.
In any case, thank you personally to everyone who responded. Good luck!
ps the decision was noted randomly. In any case, thanks again.

There are days when it is impossible to watch. Not a single video.
There are days when you will not encounter a single glitch.
I look at pi2 / openelec, controlling from a smartphone.
At the same time, nothing slows down on the smartphone itself.
The speed and quality of the Internet are sufficient, repeatedly checked.
I conclude that when the service is busy, it lowers the service priority to systems that work through api, which are not browsers. The priority is users who can push ads, who will leave comments, etc. - browser users.
Restarting the video often helps. On the fifth or tenth time it is reproduced without problems.
If 5-10% of the video passed without disruptions and freezes, then the rest will also be played normally.
If there was at least once a stutter - you can extinguish it, there will be no sense.
