Does Wi-Fi turn off when you close the lid of your laptop?

Hey! I connected my laptop to the TV all the time. But recently (today and yesterday) when closing the lid, the laptop disconnects from my WiFi (Search is on, but cannot find my WiFi). What could have happened? (Before that, I installed an SSD on the laptop and reinstalled Windows, maybe this is somehow related)
