Does Unix exist for "development"?
We all know perfectly well that windows is not perfect, whether there are Unix-like systems where you don’t have to worry about packages for languages like C, where there is already a pre-installed Denver package, so to speak, or servers right away (DVL liked how apache was launched, etc. things) so that you can start the system from a flash drive and do whatever your heart desires?

Get Ubuntu. Forget about Denver, buy PHP-storm and try Vagrant or something
Almost any Linux livecd will work for you. It's hard to say which one, look, choose what you like best ...
You checkers or go? Do you want the distribution kit to weigh 5GB and boot in 30 minutes, like some kind of enterprise server?
