Does the RG-45 socket splitter simply split one cable into two ports?

Good afternoon.
I am re-laying home network cables at home and it became necessary to make two RJ-45 connectors at one point. Thoughts arose about installing a socket with two ports, but the question is - will it be enough just to plug the cable into the router on one side and on the other to spread the cable to the sockets? In other words, is it enough for me to simply separate one end of the cable, as shown in numerous videos, and it will magically start working with two connectors (a sort of mini-switch) or are there any other technical nuances for setting it all up?

No, you need to crimp on two connectors, i.e. make two 100 megabit wires from one 8-wire wire, crimp the wire on one side into two connectors, and on the other - breed it in a double socket.
