Does the MacBook Air 13 2013 handle web design?

I want to take the last Air 13 on Core i5 and 8 gig of RAM on board.
Actually needed for web design in Photoshop and Illustrator.
I know that encoders do not experience any problems, they say everything flies. But there for the most part work with the text. And here you need to turn the layouts in Photoshop. So I'm wondering if it's possible to work adequately on such a laptop or even forget it like a bad dream?

Do not offer retina as an alternative. And desktop too.
You need a laptop to be able to take "work" with you.

PS: Now I'm sitting at 13 firmware (not retina) in the standard configuration. I understand that you can cram a hard ssd into it and at least 16 gig of RAM ... but the screen resolution is very depressing to me. But in Ayre, that's just the thing. But I'm worried about what will "slow down" because of the castrated process.

In general, help with practical advice, guys.

Very often, for a 13 'macbook, they buy a 19'-27' monitor, to which they connect a laptop at home (or at work).
As for performance, you can work in Photoshop, but animation in After Effects is no longer very comfortable. What web designer doesn't animate their interfaces these days? That's right, bad.

Why not offer a retina? After all, high resolution is good. 13 is a small screen and is unlikely to be convenient to use in work

"Health" Air 13 is enough. I worked on an even weaker machine from Lenovo (i3, 2 Giga RAM). At the same time I ran Photoshop with a chandelier (CS6) + browser, Notepad++, music - all without problems, although not as comfortable as we would like. The only downside for me is the screen size. I had 15 (1920x1080) and it was still not convenient, especially when working with small things.

Designing now on something less than 24 inches under 1920x1200 is a perversion and not professional. They design on 13 inch retina pros, only poseurs from shit web studios.
Retina is generally contraindicated for web design. on the user's end screen without retina and poppy fonts, the design will look like shit.

I work on a Macbook pro 15 "(with SSD 512) born in 2010, there is an additional 21" monitor from Dell. For 2D graphics everything is good. I don't work with 3D.
