Does the integrated sound card have phantom power?
I want to buy a microphone with an XLR connector, they write that it needs phantom power, but someone writes that they stuck it into a standard sound system and everything works.
I have an MSI Z77A-G41
motherboard.
According to the sound, it has the following data:
Sound 8 channels (7.1)
Realtek ALC887 audio controller
Do I need to buy a separate sound card with phantom power for the microphone?

Either a separate zvukovuhu with an XLR connector and this feature, or a special adapter with an external power supply.
The motherboard of a regular PC does not have phantom power, and there is no XLR connector.
And for whom everything works in a standard sound system - the microphone simply does not require this power supply. It is needed for electrostatic microphones without a built-in battery.
