Does socks5 proxy dns traffic?

Actually the question is simple, but google the answer did not work. I test through proxifier, dns does not change, only ip changes. Should the dns also change?

Yes, the socks server will resolve DNS queries on its own behalf. You as a client will not feel this, unless there will be local requests.
If we are talking about "Remote DNS" for example in FF.
