Does reCapcha work with Russian texts? If not, why not?

It is known that reCapcha is a project that helps to recognize old texts that cannot be recognized automatically. So far I've only seen English text. Is it possible to cooperate with this project by providing it with archival texts in Russian?
If so, how? Most importantly, what can be done to change the situation?

There is no information about this on the official website, in the FAQ the question "Can I get reCAPTCHA in other languages?" leads to the Client API documentation page , which describes how to work with captcha using different programming languages - there is not a word about natural languages.
The search didn't turn up any results either.

When issuing non-Latin text, it is necessary to determine whether the user will understand the text and whether he can write it at all. Imagine that you are given Arabic text or hieroglyphs in the recaptcha. The same problem now, when they offer to write a formula or some special symbol.
This problem can be partially solved by choosing a language, but then the system will need to know the language of the text in advance.

Just today I entered a captcha, on which the second word (from books which) was with letters with diacritics.
Type Àa, Èu, Ùù

There are captchas from hieroglyphs on some Chinese sites, this is a real pain. No need!

kmua, how exactly did you come to this conclusion?
Why should typing two words on the keyboard cause such suffering to the user that you refer to them as a mockery?
reCaptcha in its current form digitizes approximately 100 million words per day, which could yield approximately 2.5 million books per year. For the sake of such results, I am ready to endure some inconvenience - and you?
In addition, you yourself can choose the method of protection against bots on your site.

By the way, I heard that captchas from Latin letters are broken at once. All you need to do is send an order to India, and hundreds of Indians will do it much cheaper than any machine hack.
In this regard, Cyrillic characters in the captcha will give a much higher guarantee against hacking, including such methods of using cheap labor. And if the audience of the site is Russian, I would try to consider a simpler captcha with Cyrillic than a fancy ReCapcha.
