Does primitive restart give a speed boost?
Hello. As part of my thesis, I am writing an "engine" in OpenGL. I want to make baked static meshes. It was decided to use the simplest (in my opinion) method. Just go through all the meshes, and convert everything (marked as static) into one big one. And between them to enter an index for restart.
I have not yet implemented this idea, and before wasting time I decided to find out here. Does such refinement give an increase in speed?
Well, the second question, if this is possible, then how to apply textures to such a "supermesh"?
