Does my employer have access to my location when using a corporate laptop and VPN?
Hello! My question is: when using a corporate VPN and, accordingly, a corporate laptop (I log in via cisco connect on a laptop when I need to access work files), can my employer find out about my location? In particular, my company is located in an EU country, and will the employer be able to find out if I go to Russia for a while and, accordingly, go to the Internet via WiFi and work from there?
I have already read a lot of information about how a VPN works, but I still can’t understand how it will work in my case.
Thanks in advance for your reply! I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me if my employer has access to my location data in this case.

Potentially it can.
The VPN server shows your current address from which you established the AnyConnect session. And he will be registered with one of the Russian providers.
Honesty is the best practice, discuss these points.
As a last resort, drop another vpn to let's say Herzner
Unless you use a proxy to access the tyrnet, then of course it will display the IP address from which the connection was made in the connection logs. And to break through the geolocation of the IP address is elementary. (IP will always be in the logs, but in the case of a proxy, it will be the IP of the proxy)
