Does Let's Encrypt SSL certificate affect Google rankings?

One site "suddenly" had its certificate expired. In order not to scare visitors with red letters, I installed a certificate from Let's Encrypt on the site.

The manager commented on my actions in a negative way, he said that because of these certificates, Google would lower the site in the issuance.

I am not strong in search engine optimization from the word “absolutely”, in connection with which please explain whether this is true.

The manager ... said because of these certificates, Google will downgrade the site in the issuance.

For such nonsense, I would have lowered your leader in salary, and even in position.
Proofs should not be asked from you, but from your leader.
1. It doesn't matter who issued the certificate, as long as it is signed by a valid root. All valid certificates are the same from a searcher's point of view.
2. Let'sEncrypt certificates are cross-signed by IdenTrust, that is, they are confirmed by another (and serious) authority.
3. Google (like many others) is a direct sponsor of Let's Encrypt, and even has the highest status - Platinum sponsor .
4. This is where Google Cloud Services offer Let's Encrypt certificates to their cloud customers . I wonder why?
5. And here Google in black and white supports :
To help site owners migrate (or originally create!) their sites on HTTPS, we want to make sure the process is as simple and cheap as possible. Let's Encrypt is a free and automated certificate authority that makes securing your website cheap and easy. Google Chrome remains a Platinum sponsor of Let's Encrypt in 2017, and has committed to continue that support next year.

Someone on Twitter posed the same question to a Google employee who replied that certificates from Let's Encrypt are OK from an SEO standpoint. Original tweet .
