Does it make sense to work as a game translator?

Now there is a lot of free time. And the idea came to combine business with pleasure: to delve into games and resume language practice. Can someone tell me where to get a job with the possibility of remote work or how to make themselves known to developers?
And in principle, is it worth it or is it a low-paid thankless job?
Thanks in advance.
ZY it is a question of translation of the text, without programming.

To be honest, in my opinion it is worth separating language packs and programming in general into two different departments. Translating text is one thing, but writing code is another. If you want to work as a translator - go to one position, if you want to work as a programmer - to another. Test translation is more of a linguistic task. Yes, and language packs with a new translation in Android applications are quite easy to connect.
My advice is just dig into game engines, don't cross dogs with chairs.

Absolutely. Well, the truth is that only original developers can take an amateur remote worker . And in principle, if you want to localize some indie game for free, write to the authors without any problems.

And from what to what are you planning? It seems to me that the game translation is different from the usual one, because it does not have a pronounced context. For example, here I have pieces of a traslate

# Inventory
inventory:
    title: Инвентарь
    actions:
        drop: Бросить
        saveSettings: Сохранить
ajax:
    errors:
        serverdown: Нет ответа от сервера.

You need to play the game in order to understand what to translate where. I remember that “General” was translated as “General”, and this turned out to be the name of the bookmark in the character settings.
And they pay there, probably, really a little. I have not yet tinkered with this issue, but I plan to =)

e4e.com I don't know if they take people remotely, but the office needs people all the time.
