Does it make sense to use Google AMP for an online store?

Is it worth bothering with the AMP version of the site for an online store with adaptive design?
As I understand it, at the moment AMP is used only for issuance in Google, there is no information at all about Yandex.

Google AMP is essentially a library that was developed by Google solely to speed up the loading and operation of pages in mobile search results, for Yandex, this will not play any role at all. If you have an adaptive design and normal traffic to the site has already been established, then there is no point in this. Moreover, it is designed mainly for content projects, and not for online stores. If you promoted your site only to a Western audience, then this would make sense, but if you also attract traffic from Yandex, then it makes no sense. In addition, when using this library, other JS libraries will not work. You essentially need to redesign the site from scratch. I do not think that in your case the game is worth the candle.

Definitely yes. Google introduces a mobile site index, sharing it with the desktop one. That is, the issue for mobile devices will be different, and for desktops it will be different. The factors of mobile suitability, site loading speed, resources, server response time, etc. are taken into account. For mobile search results, AMP will become a major factor. Here is an example of an online store , AMP plugin for CMS Okay/Simpla

In short, yes.
Google is actively moving this technology.
But regarding the expediency of financial matters - this is no longer a question for us :)

I don't think it's worth it. Better make a responsive website with device verification. If the client logged in from a phone or tablet, then do not include css and js, which is only needed on a computer. The online store will load quickly and will not eat up a lot of customer traffic.

At the expense of product pages - a moot point. But definitely worth it for News, Articles, etc. pages. Some information here: https://www.brekot.ru/blog/amp-bitrix-pagespeed-in...

I found a cool article on AMP, the guy put everything together, how to implement it. Too bad no findings have been published yet. Promised to publish about the meaning of amp.
By the way, the citylink is still in the TOP with amp pages

Turbo pages are an analogue of AMP for Yandex. Therefore, the choice of one or another type of accelerated mobile pages depends on the search engine.
However, Turbo pages have a few salient features. First of all, unlike Google's AMP pages, their content is taken from a special RSS feed, and not from the pages of the site itself. Once on Habré there was a good article on this topic, I advise those who are interested in this topic to read: " AMP and Turbo pages: pros, cons and results of implementation "
If you answer globally, then there is a sense of use. Mobile traffic has a significant share in the traffic of online stores, and accelerated mobile pages significantly affect search results from mobile devices.
