Continuous Integration

Does it make sense to use Continuous Integration if the project is on shared hosting?

Previously, all projects were not particularly complex, and I developed them alone. If I worked with someone for a couple, I tried to use git, but I did pull manually. Now for the future I want to understand what Continuous Integration is. I read a number of articles and answers on the toaster: what is its usefulness and convenience, and how the process is approximately, I understood, but have not yet found an answer, does it make sense to organize this if the project is hosted on a shared hosting, or is it generally extremely difficult (due to some restrictions) and not necessary.
I would be grateful for the most chewed answer and any useful advice :)

Can. I now keep the project on locum.ru, deployment there usually happens with the `cap deploy` command. I attached a test run from Codeship, at first they just ran after each push to the repository, and then I put the deployment there as well. If the tests are green, the deployment is performed (by the command above), if not, then no.

Today VDS are almost cheaper than Shared.
