Does it make sense to choose HDD 2.5 instead of 3.5?

Subject. With similar volumes, 2.5 heat up less, make less noise, and consume much less electricity. Reliability, according to the articles, has become almost identical.
Are there pitfalls?

In my very cramped slim case, I operate two 2.5-HDDs as user (system - SSD).
Actually, there are two pitfalls:
1. Really lower performance, as written above.
2. Long default timeout when accessing - a laptop disk is usually optimized for energy saving, so if it is not accessed for a long time, it stops, and at the next access it spins up for 15...20 seconds. Trying to disable this timeout in the Control Panel settings does not always work.
Everything else is good: less heat, shockproof design. Well, the price is...

@opium

the cost and smaller volume are the main pitfall
in terms of heating and making less noise, this is practically on all 3.5s that are low-powered or green at 5200 rpm.

2.5 is slower than 3.5, according to our big ones (either mail.ru or yandex.ru wrote about it)
According to the Blackbaze report, the reliability of 2.5 is lower than 3.5.
At 2.5, the cost of 1 G is higher than at 3.5.
Silence depends on the specific model.
Modern ones are very quiet.
