Does git only need to work with code? I've highlighted the folder with the JS plugin, and there were pictures. Did you have to choose a code?
Pictures have been added to git add. Is it bad? It was necessary to climb into the plugin folder, look for the code there and select ONLY it? Or do not care for the pictures?

Everything depends on the conditions.
If you are engaged in layout, let's say a landing page. You should have pictures, only in the development folder.
The folder in which the production version is stored is under git ignore and is collected from your development folder (for example, via gulp).
Otherwise, too much duplicate information is stored in the project. (It is not good)
