Does copyright apply to other countries?
Hello, I am writing a book and want to register in my country. Will my copyright be extended to other countries. I want to publish a book in 2 different languages Russian English. First of all, Russian a little later into English. And now another question automatically appears if someone translates my book into another language before me and distributes (sells) it, whether copyright infringement will apply to such people.
Respectfully! Ruslan.

Read about the International Protection of Copyright and Related Rights , if in Russia protection can be up to 70 years after the death of the last author, then in some banana republic everything can go into the public domain 4 years after publication. And so there this book can be printed by anyone.
With a translation in court, it will be more difficult, since it will be necessary to prove that this is a derivative work from yours.
What does it mean to register? The copyright for a book is obtained automatically upon its creation.
Yes, a translation without your consent will be illegal, because the translation will be based on your work, i.e. it will be used.
Will my copyright also be extended if I translate a book from Russian into English with the help of professional translators. Will it spread the same way?
