Does buying nofollow links and embedding them in user-generated content make any sense in the context of ranking a site in search engines?

To create an artificial link mass, veiled as a natural one, in order to improve the ranking of the site in search engines and at the same time not get sanctions from search engines - is there any point in placing links on resources on which all links acquire the nofollow attribute?

Everything is relative. Depends on what links and what content, sites. Google has already admitted to using nofollow links

“We will use these hints, along with other signals, to better understand how to properly analyze and use links in our system.

But it seems there were clarifications that such links are not taken into account from all sites, it depends on the trust or subject matter, for example, Facebook has nofollow and is unlikely to be taken into account (maybe only a hundred thousand in the mass), and from Wikipedia there may be one link counted as nofollow , but this has happened before. In short, Google acknowledged what was already known to those who were engaged in SEO.
Answering your question, I must say that nofollow links can also do harm, and if links that are displayed as back links can be rolled back through the list via Disallow Links, then nofollow links will remain as they are.
It’s hardly necessary to buy nofollow links, it’s better to get by with crowds, because the links on the forums are closed by nofollow, and some other traffic will go!

Of course, any links that are clicked on participate in the ranking.
