It is likely that this is the release 8.2.16 promised last year. It was planned to be released in the first quarter of 2012, but something is delayed. Perhaps they decided that it was too revolutionary and made a new version.
As far as I remember from the presentation, it was planned to add functionality for managing databases and user licenses in SaaS mode.
