Does a long shutdown hurt your computer?

Hello. I bought a computer today and noticed that when I shut down the monitor goes out quickly, and the computer still continues to work for 50 seconds. Is this normal, if not, is it harmful to the computer?

50 seconds is too much.
If you do hibernate instead of shutting down in windows, then yes, it may look like this, the monitor turns off but at that time the RAM is dumped to disk and only after that the computer physically turns off, but usually even on hdd it takes a few seconds, ten maximum.
In windows, you can configure the tasks that it should perform before shutting down, maybe you have configured the shutdown of virtual machines, so they are shutting down this time? But usually at this time the monitor does not turn off (the exception is multi-monitor configurations, non-standard settings are possible when the main monitor turns off as soon as the user logs out)
There is not enough information to understand what it is.

It does not harm, but it is a sign that something is wrong with the computer or OS, and this something may well harm.
