Documents with markup in VS Code?

Is there any format in which you can take notes with elementary bold markup or some other embellishment?
So that, for example, I myself could choose the design of a particular word?
The code is highlighted so well, I would like thoughts to be formed just as well, for structure.

I love markdown, there is even an extension https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/languages/markdown
i.e. you write the text in plain text, without an editor, and various styles, headings, code, can be described in markdown language (as with html, only easier). And next to the editor, a preview window will open, in which all the styles of your text will be applied.
