Do you need information about discounts for Windows 8?

Yesterday I received a promotional letter about the opportunity to buy (upgrade to) Windows 8 Pro at a price of 1290 rubles .

The interesting thing is that you can upgrade not only from Windows XP, Vista and 7, as they say on the Internet, but also from Windows 8 Release Preview, which was installed on my tablet.

The update takes place as follows: Windows8-UpgradeAssistant.exe is downloaded from the MS website (from the link above), the compatibility of hardware and programs is checked, after which it is proposed to purchase an online product key. After paying with a card, your new key is immediately displayed, and an email with information about the purchase is sent to the mail. Next comes the actual "Upgrade". As promised, previously installed programs are not transferred to the new system, only "user documents" remain.

Since the topic was in Q&A, I'll ask.
Can this key that comes through the Upgrade Assistant be used to clean install Windows 8? Or, in which case, will you need to install Windows 7 first, and then roll Windows 8?

rub. The date was July 19th. It does not ask for keys from previous versions, there is no other verification.
