Do you need a battery saver mode in a laptop?

Hello, Sony Toaster
Notebook strongly suggests extending battery life by using the 80% artificial charge limit mode. Does it really help or is it bullshit?

This thing is useful if you work for a long time from the network (with the power supply connected).
If you often have to work on battery power, it's not effective. Annoying in fact, sits down faster, which is logical. I am writing from my own experience, I have come across such utilities more than once.
In theory, after charging the battery by 60 - 80%, the controller will turn off the battery and the laptop will work directly from the network, and the battery will not be used and charged (the so-called storage mode in the laptop), which again, in theory, should extend the battery life, because manufacturers advise to store the battery charged by 60 - 80%. In practice, I will not say anything.
All the same, after two or three maximum years, the battery, as a rule, dies. This is all done by manufacturers so that we constantly "upgrade", constantly change old hardware to new.
