Do you check extensions on github for security before being loaded by composer?

There seem to be a lot of extensions, but does anyone check them for viruses, bookmarks, backdoors...

Users check and complain. So just don't use unrated products from little known entities.
What is the probability that the jquery developers suddenly decide to put a backdoor in the code? Or yii? But people with the nickname "vasya2012" may well.
But few people will post malicious code there. This is opensource - this is sacred.
