Do windows programs work fine on ubuntu installed with wine?

I want to switch to Ubuntu completely, but I also want to keep the ability to work in Photoshop and other Windows programs, I would also like to play the game sometimes. I know that you can use wine, but will everything work fine?

Everything will not work properly.

Firstly, answer yourself the question for what purposes do you need Linux, if you just want to try another OS, then try it in a virtual machine first

GUI , but they will work better than Windows ones under wine, besides, in 80% of cases they will be free these goals are the most budgetary Mac mini, without a keyboard and mouse monitor, I work with it from the main computer, via remote desktop using the vnc protocol)
As for games, all the same, the main gaming OS is Windows, but most of them work fine under wine, as a rule, you can find ready-made bottles for popular ones. There are troubles in another, amd video cards do not support drivers for old models very well, so official drivers may not be compatible with a fresh kernel and / or x-server, with nvidia cards everything is normal
PS if you previously had experience only with Windows, then the first distribution, I would recommend trying Linux mint with one of the native DEs (cinnamon or mate), it was created just for an easier transition and is based on LTS versions of Ubuntu
