Do new projects need to use socket.io instead of regular websocket?
Judging by the caniuse statistics, browsers already support websockets normally.
Question. Is it worth it now, when starting a new project, to pull the Socket.io monster into it, or can you get by with pure sockets? What are the advantages of using it if there is no need to fall back to ajax-pool?
UPD I am satisfied with the set of browsers that currently natively support websockets. The question is precisely in the set of auxiliary functions of the Socket.io library, which can be useful in the further development and support of the project.
