Do I need to store notifications in the database using Pusher?

Hello!
I started using the Pusher service for notifications on my site. Following the installation instructions , I realized that notifications disappear after receiving. And it doesn't matter if the user has looked or not, after the notification arrives at the client side, after reload, the notification page is no more. And it's sad and sad.
This is my first time dealing with notifications, and therefore I ask for your help and advice.
How to make sure that notifications do not disappear anywhere, and the user himself chooses whether to leave a notification or not.
How is this implemented in VK, for example.
Thank you all!

Yes, oddly enough, but in order for the notification to be saved, it needs to be written to the database, this is a natural process and there are probably no other solutions, although you can of course use cookies or sessions there, but it makes no sense
