Do I need to ask hoster to connect tun/tap/ppp again after reinstalling linux on vds?

I'm trying to install pptpd on vds. Initially, I didn’t even know that I had to ask the hoster to connect these tun / tap / ppp modules, but then I still asked the hoster to connect them, and after a while I reinstalled linux on vds. Do I need to ask the hoster to re-enable these modules?
And if anyone knows what this error means?

Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so loaded.
Couldn't open the /dev/ppp device: No such file or directory

@younghacker

The error means that it is impossible to open the ppp device. Most likely it doesn't exist.
But what is this under-VDS? openvz? OpenVZ is not suitable for VPN purposes. Change to a normal VDS where you are your own admin. On a normal hypervisor KVM, XEN, Vmware, Hyper-V.
