Do I need any documents to work remotely from Russia for an employer in the USA?

I ask you to tell those who work remotely for a company-employer in the United States, but are located (live) outside the United States (in my case, in the Russian Federation). Do I need to get some permissions in the USA in this case (Green Card or something else)?
As far as I understand, a Green Card is needed only to work with residence in the United States, and if an American company enters into a contract with you and it is not located and does not live in the United States, then you do not need to receive any permits such as Green Card.
Do I understand correctly?
PS I would be grateful for the answer of those people who have or had a similar experience.

you are confusing the concepts of employee and contractor,
judging by the frequent word "contract" and not "agreement" or "agreement", you are hired as a contractor,
read the letters "non employee" there, they will definitely be
in this case - everything is in order for the employer (ITIN would be nice, since you are a non-resident, but it’s okay, you’ll wave w8 and send your passport)
as for the Motherland, here, thank God, you will only get personal income tax, if all payments are from one person
, they can also stop cooperation with you at any moment,
but if it were an employee, then, alas, without a work permit, nowhere, but in practice this does not happen
