Do I need a new site in the AD forest?
I now have a network with 2 DCs geographically separated
in the office network 204.85.134.0/24
in the branch 10.10.4.0/24
The office is moving and abandoning the temporary branch (where the second DC is now located)
During the move, we will have 2 DCs, but the second one is already not from the branch - but a new one.
In the new office network: 10.0.0.0/23
After the move, the old controller will be removed. But a new "iron" DC will be added.
and I'm wondering if it is necessary to create a new website for the new office?
The fact is that I decided to pre-read articles on my topic, and found this phrase:
Before adding a new server to the domain and installing the AD DS role on it, you must create a new site (only for branches, you do not need to create a site within the same local network!) And define a network for it. Site (site) - one or more TCP \ IP networks with a high-speed connection. As a rule, sites are geographically distributed. With modern Internet connections such as FTTX, and small amounts of replication, the need for multiple sites may not be necessary.
