Good day to all. I want to ask whether a higher education in the field of information technology is needed for a qa engineer (tester) or not? I look at vacancies on hh, where in some vacancies they require a higher technical education, but it is not clear related to information technology or how it suits me. I have a higher technical education in the specialty of optotechnics. But I don’t want to work in my specialty, as a design engineer or process engineer. At the moment I'm studying testing theory (Roman Savin, Mikhail Portnov's courses, a lot of other videos on YouTube and sites on the Internet), I started to study sql.
