Do gif images load the site?

The site has a couple of dozen gif images, if they are not needed, they are hidden under display:none, does the page load working gifs?
I can't figure it out on my PC

Which GIFs do you want to download: from mini-videos or large videos?
If you have a gif from large videos, try to compress it so that the gif is loaded quickly on the site and saves download information traffic!
Yandex.Zen has the latest hit functionality - you can send any gif as comments to any article, and the image processing algorithm in the comments compresses the gif itself if it has a large size...

Open Developer Tools and see in the Network your gifs are loading or not?
PS Yes, most likely they are loaded, but the last word remains with the browser how it works and will be.
