Div, float:left and width?

Guys, I'm already drunk and I just can't figure out how to solve the problem.
There is a mosaic of identical divs. Let's say 50x50 for the width of the pictures. So, depending on the width of the browser, you need to display a different number of images.
float:left does everything ok for everyone, but there is an empty space on the right, which is less than 50px

Percentages will not work, for every 50px of browser change it is nonsense to write.

use display: inline-block on item list and text-align:center on
ps wrapper for ie7 need hack to support display: inline-block
