Difficult choice of laptop

Good day, gentlemen. I chose a laptop for a long time and seemed to have chosen it.
Acer 4830TG - which is with i5 and 8 hours of work.
What do you think the jambs can be? Are there happy owners?
Who uses what and by what criteria did they choose, are they satisfied with everything?

Question for the sake of feedback - I want to avoid pitfalls by making the right choice.

Or thinkpad x220.
There is nothing special about this acer, an average laptop without anything.

Don't get an Acer. If the criterion is operating time, the champions in this matter are Asus and ThinkPads (as inkvizitor68sl actually reported). I have an inexpensive Dell Vostro 3450 (I took it because of the AMD 6630 on board), on the graphics from Intel it gives honest 5.5 hours of reading, or 3.5 hours of video, or surfing through WI-FI.

Non-removable battery (without disassembly) and not the best screen. The latter can be critical.

I also have a similar ace. 8 hours is ideal. A minimum of running processes, without the Internet, with economical backlighting. In fact, about 4 hours of surfing, 3 hours of a movie and 1.5-2 hours of downloading a torrent or watching online with a constant upload of a video stream.
ZY, The screen of the eyser is simply disgusting. Indescribably disgusting.

Maybe my advice will seem strange, but at the moment it is better not to take anything.
Firstly, CES is underway and there will be a lot of interesting announcements.
Secondly, Ivy Bridge laptops will appear in the summer, they are more interesting than the current core iX.

I would not take Acer, the experience of acquaintances suggests that there is a serious risk of contacting the service.
I recently took a Samsung Chronos NP700 from Amazon.com via Shipito.
Yes, I see that the price categories are different (and this laptop is much more expensive in Russia, which is now becoming a rarity) - but I can say that the laptop is absolutely magnificent! For ≈40,000 rubles, I did not expect anything like this: Core i7, 6GB RAM, 750Gb HDD, 8 GB ExpressCache SSD, discrete and integrated video, aluminum case. 1600x900 resolution. Maybe there is a reason to dig? :)

Do you really want an Acer? It is better to look for reputable manufacturers. Acer has frequent problems with overheating, usually poor software out of the box and all that.

Weeds of this (Acer 4830TG) device in the cooling system. With a heavy load on the video and the CPU heats up => throttling (the processor slows down, reduces the frequency).
And standard for this price category: a bad TN matrix.
And so, not a bad device - a compromise between price and filling.
And a non-removable battery is even +.
You need to choose the device first of all from your needs. Few people pay attention when buying a bad screen, an uncomfortable keyboard. This is not written in the characteristics, but we use it every day.
If I needed performance in games, a capacious battery and I would be limited in money, then I took this device.
You can also look at Asus u41sv - about the same. But I won't say anything about it :)

Get a MacBook Pro. Make no mistake.
