Did you choose the right assembly for the network storage?
Good afternoon. the question arose of choosing nas for a small office, the choice fell on QNAP D4 Pro and 4 hard drives for it: WD NasWare Red WD60EFRX 6TB.
Server, you need to make storage for 8 TB of existing files, and 5-6 TB in reserve, and run it all under raid5
But still not completely sure, maybe there is a cheaper or better and proven option?

Well, sort of normal, cho.
Budget.
Take it.
I would advise Synology, but I just worked with them.
The main thing is to keep an eye on the temperature, some QNAP models can get very hot and at air temperatures above 26 there were cases when in a 4-disk model - one disk overheated and was thrown out of the raid array, but in general it worked without problems. Inside QNAP is linux, software raid, and so on. If necessary, you can climb inside via ssh to see how things are going there.
