Did the motherboard burn out? Or is it not so sad?

A friend inserted a buggy apple charger into the USB and started twirling it in all directions (the phone was connected on the other side of the cable). The laptop immediately cut off. I turned it on by pulling the battery.
The message flashed without stopping (usb device not detected, although there was nothing there).
Then he sent the laptop to sleep, and after 2 hours it did not turn on. Charging lights do not light up. Pulled out the battery, does not react to anything.
Can anything help him at home, and if not, will they accept it under warranty? They say pulling out the "pills" helps. I'm afraid to contact the services from the last case, as the feeling that I was deceived for a large amount.
PS I know that there was a similar topic, but I think that the matter may be in protection. Different companies have their own. I have tried all of the methods listed there.

It depends on what "home conditions", and the main conditions are not on the table, but in the head, the motherboard is not a match to burn out entirely, and the fewer "signs of life" the simpler and cruder the problem, the voltage converter is really implemented differently everywhere, therefore you need to remove the board, supply power from the battery or power supply, and use a multimeter to look for where the 19 V voltage comes from and where 5 V should go to USB, HDD and other voltages, there you will find the answer to the question of which chip is the problem, then we will see.
Without knowing the laptop model, I won’t be surprised at this either, try it, it won’t be worse, but it’s unlikely to help.

Either the USB socket broke and shorted out the contacts, or the southbridge fried.
look at the socket, if it's broken, then solder it, if it's normal, then the south bridge is for replacement.
