Much depends on your geography, java developers are in great demand and highly paid specialists, but very enterprising, if I may say so)) There are not so many orders at the Firlance, if there are no java vacancies in your city, then further development outside the office will be difficult.

Learn to program in general - the tool is not important. The main thing is to understand everything, and learning the syntax is a short matter.
