Delphi in 2016 studying in college, does it make sense?

Soon the 2nd course is coming in my specialty Computer Engineering and Software, and the whole 2nd course will be according to the pascal -> delphi plan. Delphi bothers me because it doesn't make sense in 2016. Or is it just an illusion?

What's in Pacal, what's good in Delphi is to study the basics of programming, basic logical blocks of functions, loops, conditions, etc. Having learned them in these simple languages, it is much easier to move on to more complex languages. Delphi is needed only for training in commercial development, there is very little of it.

Learn all programming languages
The more you know languages - the more useful. It is difficult to study only the first.
A programming language is a very basic thing. Well, about like the ability to turn on a computer.
PS:
I know 20 programming languages.
