Dell poweredge r620 - can I use memory sticks of different sizes?

There are several servers. In them, half of the memory slots (the first 12 slots in a row) are filled with 16GB slats. Question: is it possible to fill the remaining slots with memory strips of 8GB each (the frequencies are identical) - or do I need to purchase 16GB, similar to those installed?

not there rolled the first answer.
everything is described here: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/uk/en/ukbsdt1...
I understand that in your case you will need to move some 16GB strips to the B side.
we fill 16GB with 12 slots on both sides (from A1 to A6 and from B1 to B6). filled slots A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6. the remaining slots are filled with 8GB strips.
By the way, the same frequency does not mean that the bars are suitable.
UDIMMs, RDIMMs, and LRDIMMs must not be mixed in the same server.
read the link, there are enough conditions.
