Definition of spatial coordinates

Good afternoon. There is an idea, but for implementation it is required to accurately determine the position of objects in a confined space, with an accuracy of + -2 cm. While I keep such a scenario in my head, readers are placed on objects of rfid tags, around the room, at different levels - by measuring the signal strength, we calculate all three coordinates by triangulation. It seems that I found confirmation of the operability of this option on the net, but mainly on the websites of equipment manufacturers, which gives rise to natural skepticism. I hope for advice from the habra community.

I once studied this issue. It is worth considering the case when the labels are active. It's just that on passive ones it turns out some kind of fakap, it's not even worth taking.
For indoor localization, not only RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) is used, but ToA (Time Of Arrival). And with the help of Kalman filtering, a more accurate result is obtained.
Available solutions are usually built around Synapse RF100 active tags . Here is a comparison of RF100 with other tags of this manufacturer and price.
Related articles:
“Building An Active RFID People / Asset Tracking System With Mesh Networking” Nicholas Skinner is a real-life example of how a guy at home built a localization system.
"Building an active RFID people/asset tracking system with mesh networking." the author is unknown - the system is not similar to the previous one, but everything is described here in a little more detail + there are pieces of source code.
"Three-Dimensional Indoor RFID Localization System" Jiaqing Wu, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. - the actual localization is not just in 2d, but in full 3d takes place.
In general, you can still look towards ZigBee tags. Similar solutions, for example, are used by RTLS . On Habré, their articles are also lying around, but on the site they are more convenient because everything is in one place.
