Writing scripts for loading data from different services and servers, database administration, where to start? What to read, how to practice? How to overcome the fear of screwing up in the database? I'm terribly afraid to drop something or update badly, how did you cope with this at first?

Make copies.
The first step is to master the manufacture of copies and backups.
And recovery from backups.
Then start experimenting.
