Damaged cable or software problem?
One fine day, a yellow exclamation mark appeared at the Internet icon on my home PC. Diagnostics gives the message "Windows could not automatically detect the proxy settings for this network." I went online with this question, dropped the network in the end and performed several actions on the advice that came across there. Did not help. The bottom line is that I get all the addresses (ip, gw, dns) and I can go to the operator's website. The information says that the speed is 10 mb / s. I called the operator, they say that the crooked signal comes from me. Taking into account the fact that the cable is 10 years old and it was installed, don’t understand by whom and where and how, is it likely that the problem is in it (or the connector, it seems to squint at it, the wires are in place)?
