Cross-platform development in C#?

I would like to gain experience in developing native applications for mobile devices in the summer.
My favorite programming language is C#. The fact is that the only suitable framework, tobish Xamarin, costs $25/month. To be honest, I have no desire to pay 1500 rubles a month. for each platform. Moreover, I have no plans to publish the application in the application stores. Of course they have a Starter Edition, but it has limitations.
PS It takes a long time to write for each platform in a native language :(

Well, if you want to be a specialist, then it’s native.
Android leads in the number of devices.
Apple for grandmothers.
Windows Phone on the bottom.

You probably don't need cross-platform. Start with Android or iOS, there is more money spinning there than in the area with C # and Windows Phone. I do not recommend looking towards Xamarin - a very falling solution, which in any case will force you to finish the code for each platform separately in the native environment. Starting with iOS is quite expensive if there is no necessary equipment, and programming languages for iOS are "specific")
