Creating a marketplace: Wordpress + WooCommerce, or another CMS?

Hello!
You need to create a thematic project, similar in principle to sites such as etsy.com , livemaster.ru , etc.
The essence of the project is that you need to give users registered as a seller the opportunity to create their own store based on the site, and post products for sale. And for the administrator - to implement the ability to set a commission, i.e. % of the transaction, which is removed from sellers when selling goods.
The number of goods, taking into account the potentially large number of sellers, can amount to tens of thousands of positions.
Since there is no desire to write from scratch, it is too long and expensive, it was decided to take this theme for WordPress as a basis: Dokan, translate it into Russian, change the design and finish it a little for yourself.
There is only a question of the appropriateness of the choice: can WooCommerce work quickly with a large number of products? Can you suggest other implementation options or engines?

It will pull if the development is done normally.
If you install plugins indiscriminately and involve children in development, then the site will die very soon.
On frameworks, it is more difficult to find children, this is where their pluses end. But if you put children on a frame, then the site will die as well.
In terms of readiness and flexibility, WordPress and WooCommerce will break any frame.
You just need to look for competent specialists and install only proven and high-quality plugins.

And also, at the same time, I advise you to buy a VPS server for this business, and install a bundle - nginx + php-fpm + mysql
and not use Apache at all! if you really want your server not to lay down under a load of 2k visitors.

In WordPress with the role system, everything is a little ambiguous, you have to work on it.
You will probably also have to code shit (if you need functionality that, for example, is not available in woocommerce, you will have to deal with everything yourself [with templates in particular]). In general, personally, for such a large (amount of data) project, I would choose a framework.

I think that this bundle will have enough "health", but in any case, a server (at least VPS) will be needed.
Also in favor of WordPress is its convenient admin panel. In my opinion, for a simple user, it is the most convenient and friendly of the three Drupal, Joomla, WordPress.

I chose an engine that was originally designed for an online store, I will remove some of the functions, and I decided to just add the features I needed. ImageCMS Shop Professional, development budget $800, excluding license, design and layout. The original TOR was detailed and expanded.

Now I am doing just that.
Drupal + Commerce
True, you will have to adjust a lot, but it turns out to be very functional.
