Creating a calendar event by reading a QR code?
Inspired by today's topic about the next use of QR codes .
Just last week I was at the dentist and at the registration they gave me a printed reminder paper (the size of a cash receipt) when I need to come next time. I immediately create the corresponding calendar event in the phone. The thought arose, why not print a QR code on this piece of paper, transmitting information about the event to the calendar (which may contain the address and name of the doctor). And so I just have to confirm the creation of the event.
Is it possible (for example on Android) to trigger the recording of a calendar event as a result of reading a special QR code without using third-party applications (naturally, with the exception of an application that recognizes QR codes)?
In my opinion, this idea is as natural as automatically opening a link in a mobile browser after photographing a QR code, which now works on many modern phones out of the box.

There is a QR generator that encodes events in the iCalendar format , although apparently not all readers understand it, for example, the Scan application on iOS (the one that was RedLaser before buying it on Ebay) does not recognize it.
Yes, modern qr code generators have such a function, for example stqr.ru/generator/event
Hm. If there is a link to the calendar in the QR. Seems like it should work.
In theory, you can try. If you can make a link by which the event will be added to another user's calendar, like this .
