Create a partition on a flash drive?

Is it possible to somehow create a partition on a flash drive without formatting it? I am using macos.

You can go the dirty way - create an emulation for a poppy in the form that the flash drive is a simple hard drive, and then, like a regular hard drive, create a partition, but you need to consider that there should be little or no space on the flash drive for such partitions
