Counters at western sites
I noticed that on Western sites, and popular ones, counters are very rarely used, but on ours they are used to the right and to the left, explain why?

yes there are counters, they just don't usually flaunt them like ours do. Craving for show, no more, IMHO.
It depends on what is considered a "counter". if the picture is at the bottom of the page, then yes, in the west they usually don’t like, unlike Russians, to pollute their pages with all sorts of left buttons.
If we consider a tool for analyzing visits as a counter, then it is used both in the West and in Russia.
Yandex.metrics, google analitycs can count without buttons on the site. We recently installed piwik for ourselves , since then I hardly use the metric - convenient + all sorts of adblock and other banner cutters do not cut it, unlike other counters, therefore it shows more accurate data (the difference is about 5% with the metric and GA)
as a rule, according to the counters, some advertiser can evaluate the popularity of the site, correct if something is wrong. How, then, can such a counter be screwed onto the site so that it would not be visible, but he would count, and of course without any cheating tricks.
